How To Advertise On The Internet

Do you want to reach millions of potential customers for FREE!
Well, you can if you know how. The Internet, that massive
network of thousands of computers around the world, also know
as the "Information Super Highway," is your ticket to generating
free leads and sales.

But beware the Internet is generally VERY MUCH AGAINST ANY
COMMERCIAL ACTIVITY. The Internet was originally set up by the
government for individuals and universities to have a massive
database of information. The Internet has pretty much gotten
out of control with its explosive growth over the past few
months and years.

The Internet is know basically as an Anarchy. There isn't
really any how runs and regulates the Internet, at least not for
now. So pretty much anything goes on the Net. But beware that
there are several thousand Net users who have self-appointed
themselves as the Net Police. The Net users have been know to
devastate other Net users if they do not follow their rules.
The rules are pretty basic: only post in areas that are related
to your message, and DO NOT ADVERTISE! The world we live in is a
very commercial one, and it was only a matter of time when
someone realized that a vehicle, like the Internet, that had the
capability to reach millions could be used to promote business.
And so people began to conduct business on the Net by placing
ads and sending unsolicited E-mail letters.

Several of these advertisers were in for a big surprise. Many
of them have received thousands of hate mail letters known as
"flames." Their boxes were overflowed with hate mail that a lot
of them were forced to go out of business online. Many of these
self-appointed net policeman have even developed blacklists for
advertisers. These lists are then sent to thousands of Net
users and they can send these blacklist members hate mail until
they leave the Net. So advertising is frowned upon on the Net
and it makes several people very angry.

But that doesn't mean that there is not a RIGHT way to do it.
There are little unknown newsgroups on the Internet where
advertising is actually welcome. You can place ads in these
sections and have confidence that you will get some good
response from them, and not much hate mail if any.

These newsgroups are:

alt.forsale
alt.business.import-export
alt.business.misc
aol.misc-ads
alt.make.money.fast
biz.comp.software
biz.comp.services
biz.general
biz.misc
biz.next.newprod
misc.forsale
misc.entrepreneurs
ns.forsale

THERE ARE SEVERAL MORE IF YOU DO SOME HUNTING FOR THEM. THERE
ARE NEW NEWSGROUPS ADDED DAILY, AND SOME MAY WELCOME YOUR ADS.

These newsgroups have several sub topics for you to advertise in.

You can do some careful "digging" on the Internet and find some
hidden areas to advertise in also if you look.

These newsgroups have the ability to be seen by millions, and
for FREE!

Your ad will last about two weeks in each of these groups, at
this time you should re-post your ads.

Keep track of your individual ad response. You may find some
areas are extremely good for your business, and some aren't.
You will save time and money just concentrating on the good
ones.

DO NOT JUST PLACE ADS ANYWHERE! Although you possibly could make
some money by placing ads in all kinds of newsgroups, it will
not outweigh the trouble you will go through to get it.
There is no reason to anger several thousand people just to make
a few bucks. You'll make a lot more if you use good
"netiquette" and develop a good Internet reputation for your
business. If you are into Online Business do it for the long
run, and you will be much better off. As more and more people
come online everyday, you eventually be able to reach more and
more potential customers.

One other way to do advertising, is sort of a "sneaky" but often
welcomed way. Kind of like of press release, or editorial new
product feature. "Donate" a nice article to one of the relevant
topics in common with your business. Then at the end of your
contributed article give a SHORT AND CONCISE "plug" for you
product or service. Let them contact you for more information.
Do not use the ad to do the selling, do that with information
you will send them later.

You can also create what is called a "sig file" which stands for
signature file. This is a footer that is added to the bottom of
all of your posts. Your sig file can have your name, company,
e-mail address, and any short sales message you would like
others to see. This is a good place to tell others to e- mail
you for more info on what you are marketing.

Building an Affiliate Marketing Network via the Classifieds

Most everyone who discusses the merits of an affiliate marketing network likely focuses on the pay-per-click versus pay-for-performance aspects of this advertising tool, and rightfully so! Online these two programs alone have shown themselves to be the work horses of a successful and diversified affiliate marketing network while at the same time not demanding an undue strain on a company’s promotions budget. Thus, start up companies in general and home based small business entrepreneurs in particular gravitate to this form of self-promotion like bugs to a strong light source in the dark of night. Yet just like the bugs, many of the smaller businesses get burned not because the product was unsuccessful or the presentation less than professional but instead because the interest simply could not be generated by the participants in the affiliate marketing network who chose to sign up.

In general, those signing up to post links and banners or search boxes onto their sites are looking for the heavy hitters which will lend credibility to the webmaster and her or his site, while smaller merchants are usually avoided because they simply do not offer that air of mainstream acceptance to a site. In the same vein, many of the webmaster who do sign up for the smaller business affiliate marketing network will most likely be startups themselves, thus in a way countermanding the business’ efforts of reaching a large number of potential customers. Even though the money spent on this kind of advertising is low, it hardly merits the results that are being yielded.

Interestingly, a new trend is developing which is finding great acceptance with smaller businesses and which is proofing for be a money maker to such an extent that it threatens to leave the tried and true pay-per-click or pay-for-performance affiliate marketing network in the dust for home based entrepreneurs: classified ads. Building an affiliate marketing network via the classifieds may sound odd but the more careful attention you pay to this trend, the more sense it makes.

With a few words you have the chance to advertise your network and generate a far-reaching interest in the business. While not each and every online or print publication will permit you to post your ads, in general you will find that you can start getting out the word about your network by posting in a few free, online publications. Research the high traffic sites and post your ads in accordance with their submission guidelines – a much overlooked fact that may get your ad buried if not carefully observed! Use strong marketing words that require a response by the reader, such as “clicking” or “visiting” and rely on heavy hitters like “proven” or “guaranteed” – only if you can back up the claims, of course. Add a measurable and real benefit to the action, and the odds are good that you will have a visitor for your site. Turning the visitor into a qualified lead, of course, is up to the quality of your site and actual network.

Work from Home for Fun and Profit

More and more people are catching on to the wonderful opportunities that exist through the internet to make money being creative, selling junk they have lying around the house, and doing a myriad of other things that can bring in extra income. While few of these internet businesses will bring in enough cash to let you quit your day job, they are perfect if you would like a little more money to supplement your salary. Best of all, the range of internet based jobs is so vast, virtually anyone can find a business that caters to their talents and/or interests. In this article, we’ll take a look at some of the more popular ways people are making more money from home.

The internet has created a demand for well written content. If you have always wanted to make money writing articles, this may be your chance to jump in and test the waters. Websites need a consistent flow of new content in order to rank well in the search engines and bring visitors back to their sites. They are willing to pay for this content, if you are willing to supply it. There are several ways to go about getting into this burgeoning industry. One way is to get an account at a freelancer job board and browse the listings. Website owners will place job needs on these websites and freelancers will bid for the job. There are also specific content websites that allow you to post your content, and webmasters will then purchase it directly from the site itself.

If writing isn’t your thing, but you are creative-minded, you might give some of the T-Shirt and crafts websites a try. These websites let you use Photoshop to create designs and logos, which you can then sell on a variety of products, from coffee mugs to hats to shirts. These sites usually take the majority of each sale, but they are also covering the costs of production, so it’s only fair.

And then of course there are the auction sites. Plenty has been written about how to make money with these sites, to the point where a rehash would be superfluous and beyond the scope of this article. The best way to start is to simply find things around your own house that you no longer want or need. Instead of letting these things collect dust or throwing them out with the trash, list them at the auction sites and see what you can get out of them. You may be surprised. If you find you like the process, read up on the selling strategies of those who have been successful and follow in kind.

The internet is constantly opening up new avenues for those who want to make money working from home. If you don’t like any of the existing models, nothing is stopping you from creating your own. The owners of eBay are making more than any seller, so if you have a great idea for a money making website, jump in with both feet and make it happen.

You Can Find A Stay At Home Business That Suits You With Three Simple Questions

The ability to stay at home is increasing rapidly as new opportunities appear constantly. Positions from sales representative opportunities to customer service and more. Finding the stay at home career that suits you can be as easy as asking yourself three simple questions. What do I truly enjoy doing? What amount of money or what is my budget for this business? What resources and tools do I have at hand, that can be applied toward the business? Asking these three questions will allow you to narrow down which field or areas of home business would best suit your interests as well as your personal needs.

Job Enjoyment

If you do not enjoy the job field you are in, over time you will begin to regret your job choice. It will become displeasure to go to work each day. The dissatisfaction of your job will lead to a decline in attitude and personal happiness, which can affect your relationships with family and friends as well as co-workers. Your job performance will also lack due to this feeling of dissatisfaction. Allowing yourself to understand what areas of work or business you enjoy will allow you to enter a job position knowing that this is a career you can perform every day and it will not lead to total dissatisfaction. There are always days were we do not feel like going to work even if we are in a dream job, but an enjoyable position is a must for job longevity.

Business Budget And Income Levels

When entering into a home business you have to take the necessary time required to thoroughly study your budget and income needs. You need to have enough savings to live within the means required to pay your bills, purchase personal items such as food and any other needed items for a minimum of three months. This allows enough time for your business to become established and to provide a flow of income. You also have to understand the required amount of funds needed to begin your business. What is the cost of materials, advertising, web hosting and so on? You want to provide an adequate amount of funding for each area of your business thus allowing a sturdy base for your business to be built upon. The majority of home businesses fail within the first year often due to lack of budgeting.

Resources and Tools

You also have to take the time to consider what tools or resources that you may possibly already have on hand. Consider computers, Internet access and a home phone line. These items are generally already on hand and in use daily. With these three tools you can begin the majority of home businesses that are available.

Once you have the answer to each of these questions you will be able to make the most knowledgeable choice for your home business. This will allow you to begin your business by putting your best foot forward on solid ground. By taking the necessary time to prepare for your stay at home job, will ensure that your business can thrive and succeed.

Pay Per Click vs. Traditional Advertising Online

Click here to get Google ads FREE

Pay per click advertising has been slowly gaining speed as the way to go in online advertising since its start in 2002. The minimum cost to set up an account has really come down which some believe makes pay per click advertising one of the most cost-effective ways to advertise online. Other forms of advertising online, including regular search engine inclusion, banner ads, cross-linking and listing with directories, can have decent result but few are as effective and affordable as pay per click. This doesn't mean you should choose pay per click and avoid other forms of advertising, a good combination is always the best decision for any business, whether on the net or in the real world marketplace.

Minimum deposits on pay per click account vary greatly but are usually between 5 and 25 dollars with a $50 minimum in order to keep the account open. The way PPC usually works is that you will link a credit card or bank account to the pay per click account and when your balance hits a certain amount the money is withdrawn automatically from your payment source. Other traditional forms of online advertising generally expect full payment up front for a certain amount of time. This can be a little daunting when trying an advertising method for the first time and you're not sure what kind of results you're going to get for your money. Unfortunately, advertising is often a trial and error system.

The major benefit of pay per click advertising is that you don't pay unless a visitor clicks your advertising link. This usually means a higher percentage of your advertising budget actually leads to customers. Read the terms of any pay per click site that you're considering since some guarantee clicks as an incentive. People who are getting paid or getting advertising from the company usually produce these clicks. These are not beneficial to your business and should be avoided. Other forms of advertisings may not take as much time to perfect as pay per click advertising. With PPC you can expect to spend an amount of time every week reviewing your keywords and revising your ads and the keyword they are linked to.

Both pay per click and traditional online advertising have their strengths and their weaknesses. Pay per click advertising may cost less but it also takes up more valuable time. The results are targeted to an extent but may not necessarily lead to interesting customers so weekly revising is needed for each keyword account. Traditional advertising may cost more but are usually intended for superior targeting of customers. The traditional forms of advertising online don't call for quite as much upkeep as PPC advertising requires.
